Survive & Conquer: Test your limits and stand strong for veterans
How to Prepare
Follow this 4-week training path to build strength, skills, and resilience before the big challenge.
WEEK 1: Build Your Base – Strength & Stamina
Begin a military-style training plan: push-ups, squats, burpees, and endurance runs. Focus on functional movement that prepares your body for the unknown.
WEEK 2: Master the Essentials – Survival Skills
Train like it matters. Learn to light a fire, build a simple shelter, and practise safe water collection and purification.
WEEK 3: Strengthen the Mind – Mental Resilience
Confront discomfort. Take cold showers, practise mindfulness under pressure, and complete a long hike that pushes you beyond your comfort zone.
WEEK 4: The Field Test – Live the Challenge
Put your training into action. Spend one night outdoors with minimal kit. Sleep under the stars, cook over an open fire, and prove to yourself you’re ready.

"Prepare to Conquer!"

Train like a soldier, test your limits, and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime!
The Royal British Legion’s Survival Challenge is more than just an event, it’s a journey into resilience, courage, and endurance. This August, we’re calling on you to prepare: to toughen your body, sharpen your mind, and build the grit needed not only for survival, but for life’s toughest challenges.
Why take part?
Because every push-up, every cold shower, and every night under the stars is a way to connect with the experiences of those who serve, and to stand strong for veterans and their families. It’s about proving to yourself that you can go further than you think, while raising awareness for those who have already given so much.
Even if you’re not stepping into the official challenge in September, this 30-day prep journey is your chance to step outside your comfort zone, grow stronger, and discover just what you’re capable of.
