A step beyond my comfort zone

Hi there, and welcome! I’m Fernanda, and I’m stepping out of my comfort zone to bring this blog to life. For years, my passion for health and wellbeing has been at the core of who I am. It began during my time implementing wellbeing initiatives for a large London transport organisation, and it deepened as I navigated my own journey as a mum to two incredible daughters.

Though I value privacy, especially when it comes to my family – my husband and my girls – I’ve discovered something remarkable. I love sharing my experiences with close friends, offering insights, and pointing them towards trustworthy resources to help them through their health and wellbeing struggles. In these moments of connection, I’ve found a sense of purpose.

After much thought (and a little hesitation), I decided to take a leap and share these stories and experiences more widely. Yes, it does mean opening up a little more than I’m used to, but my hope is that these stories will inspire you. If my experiences can help you live a healthier, happier, and more balanced life, it’s all worth it.

This blog isn’t about perfection – far from it. It’s about embracing chaos, learning from missteps, and celebrating small victories. Along the way, I’ll continue to signpost to reputable sources and share tools I’ve found helpful in my journey.

So here I am, ready to share, connect, and learn. Let’s take this journey one step at a time and create a life that feels good – inside and out.

Here’s to new beginnings and a shared path to wellbeing!

Why I’m not giving my daughter a smartphone (yet)

“I know this is a hot topic. Some of you may agree with me, while others might think I’m resisting the digital age. That’s okay! Parenting is full of tough decisions, and choosing when (or if) to give a child a smartphone is no exception.”
